Indication
Prevention and management of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgical procedures, gastroenteritis, and other medical conditions.
Dosage
As directed by physician; typical adult dose is one tablet 1–2 times daily before chemotherapy/radiotherapy/surgery or as advised; pediatric dosing per weight/indication.
Side Effects & Precautions
Headache, fatigue, constipation or diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, rarely allergic reaction or heart rhythm changes (QT prolongation); generally well tolerated.
Precautions: Avoid in known allergy to ondansetron, severe liver disease, significant electrolyte or cardiac arrhythmias; monitor for serotonin syndrome if used with antidepressants; caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised.
